Though New York enjoyed the style spotlight first, a slew of stylishwomen soon descended upon foggy London town for London Fashion Week. And though labels like Mulberry, Matthew Williamson, and Burberry all showed drool-worthy collections for F/W 12, we were equally curious about what celebrities and fashion insiders wore while attending said shows!  From Rihanna’s flashy, statement-making gown to Elizabeth Olsen’s tomboy-inspired separates, these ten intriguing London Fashion Week ensembles will surely provide you with endless outfit inspiration.

WHO:  Clemence Poesy, French Actress
WHAT:  Photographed at Monday’s Burberry F/W 12 show.
WEAR:  Poesy completely grasps the art of understated dressing. At the Burberry show, her polka-dot blouse with rolled-up sleeves and tweed trousers made an “I’m-with-the-boys” statement, but a sophisticated pair of pointy-toe heels offered a feminine side. Poesy also pays very close attention to fit and cut; her maroon button-down top is narrow, while her cropped trousers have a flattering slim-cut silhouette.

WHO:  Michelle Williams, Actress
WHAT:  Attended a dinner following  Mulberry F/W 12 show.
WEAR:  It’s hard to go wrong with a  mixture of leather and lace, as Williams clearly demonstrated at Mulberry’s post-fashion show dinner.  Wearing the label’s stunning custom-made dress, inspired from their F/W 12 collection, Williams  pared down the rest of her ensemble with minimal accessories (sleek black heels) and a simple beauty look (pixie cut and pretty makeup).  The result is a look that’s equally part edgy and feminine, and overall simply chic!

WHO:  Rose Byrne, Australian Actress
WHAT:  Catching Pringle of Scotland’s F/W 12 show.
WEAR:  Byrne knows how to channel a low-key look yet appear utterly fabulous!!  The actress complemented her sleek new bob with Pringle’s streamlined dress and basic black pumps.  Although her red and black patterned sheath sported an elegant knee-length hemline and a high neckline, asymmetrical sleeves serve as a fun, playful detail.

WHO:  Rihanna, Singer/Actress
WHAT:  Snapped at the Stella McCartney presentation.
WEAR:  For a jolt of sexy style inspiration, look no further!  At Stella McCartney’s special presentation, Rihanna  flashed some skin in a custom Giorgio Armani silk satin gown with an open back and thigh-high slit paired with Tom Ford’s Python Gold Sandals.  The combination of slinky forest green silk and gold jewelry, including a 1970s Matte Gold Tone Collar) 1970s Gold Tone Flex Rams Head Collar, and 1970s Gold Tone Bangle  all from UK-based Susan Caplan Vintage Collection, offers a glamorous yet youthful take on evening wear befitting the singer’s signature good-girl-gone-bad attitude.

WHO:  Poppy Delevigne, Model/Socialite
WHAT:  Taking in the Christopher Kane F/W 12 show.
WEAR:   Delevigne stayed warm and stylish in an array of  interesting textures, pairing Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti’s  fuzzy cream coat with Christopher Kane’s shiny silk sheath and Michael Van Der Ham’s scarf-print skirt.  What makes Delevigne’s ensemble a one of a kind, however, is her choice of unpredictable accessories, like a metallic gold shoulder bag from The Jacksons, a small boutique in Notting Hill (London), and Chanel’s buckle boots that channel a cool space-age vibe.

WHO:  Elizabeth Olsen, Actress/Singer
WHAT:  Hanging out backstage at the Mulberry F/W 12 show.
WEAR:  Though dressing up for Fashion Week is all part of the fun, we appreciate Olsen’s laid back outfit at the Mulberry show.  The actress looked like an off-duty schoolgirl in the label’s Bow Tie Blouse in Snowball White tucked into Lock Trousers in Black, both from the Pre-Fall 12 collection.  With Mulberry’s Evelina Satchel in Black Soft Large Grain slung casually across one shoulder,  Olsen’s getup looks perfectly polished and delightfully relaxed.

WHO:  Jacquetta Wheeler, Model
WHAT:  Pausing for a photo at the Christina Hendricks-hosted Vivienne Westwood dinner.
WEAR:  For a lesson on how to pair two unexpected colors for a totally on-trend outcome, Wheeler’s ensemble at a Vivienne Westwood dinner is the ideal example. The pink and orange-infused hues of Matthew Williamson’s vivid Neon Coral Utility Shirt and Utility Shorts  in Rust, two standout pieces from the label’s S/S 12 collection, are grounded by somber-colored accessories.   Such as a burgundy tassel belt and neutral Miu Miu heels. The model’s getup is suitably stylish for winter when paired with tights, but the breezy separates would look just as appropriate come summertime.

WHO:  Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Model/Actress
WHAT:  Arriving at the Burberry Prorsum F/W 12 show.
WEAR:  British babe Huntington-Whiteley is accustomed to bundling up fashionably for the cold.  To combat the chilly temps in London, Huntington-Whiteley wrapped herself  in cozy yet chic layers.  The model, in head-to-toe Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 12, slipped the label’s Yellow Clover Compact Wool and Silk Tweed Cropped Jacket with Detachable Mink Scarf  over the Shrimp Pink Compact Silk Blend Rib Knit Sweater and Dark Mauve Pink Stretch Cotton Velvet Boot Cut Trousers.  An orange handbag added a pop of vibrant color to  Huntington-Whiteley’s overall look, especially with the drab weather!

WHO:  Kate Bosworth, Actress
WHAT:  Spotted front row at Monday’s Burberry Prorsum F/W 12 show.
WEAR:   Savvy Bosworth is a master at pulling off juxtaposing looks-edgy and sweet, tomboyish and girly, casual and fanciful.  At the Burberry Prorsum show, she donned an ensemble both ladylike and quirky in the brand’s Mid Grey Melange Cashmere Intarsia Owl Graphic Sweater, Fudge Wool Jersey Tweed Peplum Pocket Skirt, bow belt, and boots from the Pre-Fall 12 collection.  The top’s cutesy owl print is perfectly balanced by more formal elements, like the pencil skirt’s demure hemline and fashion-forward booties.

WHO: Kate Moss, Model
WHAT:   Schmoozing at a cocktail reception at the Stella McCartney presentation.
WEAR:   Though the little black dress remains any standard go-to, Moss’ sassy cocktail number is anything but standard!  The model, attired in Stella McCartney’s Black Stretch Cady Gibson Dress from the F/W 12 evening collection and Christian Louboutin’s classic Pigalle Pumps, shows off some serious skin thanks to the frock’s well-placed sheer panels.  To enhance her sophisticated look with her trademark rock ‘n’ roll vibe, Moss also chose Stella McCartney’s Black Falabella Shaggy Deer Foldover Clutch  featuring subtle silver chain hardware, and opted for slightly tousled hair and liner-rimmed eyes!!
